About

Charlie also began his career as a communication teacher by becoming California state certified as a mediator in 1993. He studied with and the PCRC and later San Francisco Community Boards, the oldest public conflict resolution center in the U.S. He did years of volunteer community mediations and still does today.

 

While teaching mindfulness and volunteering as a mediator, Charlie took a career in sales and marketing. He worked for companies selling everything from industrial equipment to computer software and technology. He became the top-ranked salesman of a residential solar company and was also a successful entrepreneur, launching, building and later selling a health food company. Combining the “hard” skills sales and “soft” skills of mediation Charlie became a masterful communicator, both for selling and for building relationships.  

 

Charlie launched Zone Consulting in 2016 after also studying organizational and leadership development with organizations and teachers like HolocracyOne, CTI, Tribal Leadership, Peter Senge, LeadingLeaders and Patrick Lencioni. Charlie has helped dozens of leaders and organizations with his work and he loves helping them achieve their goals and creating healthier, happier and more creative cultures.

For over 25 years Charlie has taught mindfulness and communication. He began his journey by learning mindfulness in college and later studied at the ashrams and temples of Southeast Asia. Since then, he has taught hundreds mindfulness classes and workshops to thousands of people. Some of his biggest influences have been Eckhart Tolle, Jack Kornfield and a Zen teacher named Adyashanti.
